The TF2 Halloween Event is here and it’s pretty fun. Just jump into a Mann Manor server to get your Halloween Phatz. Here’s what to look forward to:
THE HORSELESS HEADLESS HORSEMANN: This is the boss of the event. When he spawns it’s a lot like Saxton Hale mode- he’s got a lot of HP and he keeps pursuing players (both red and blue) and he can fear you. Just keep attacking him while dodging the other team. If you kill him you’ll get a pumpkin hat (his head) to wear.
PAPER BAG MASKS: Random gifts spawn throughout the map and the first one to find the gift gets the prize. They seem to spawn pretty frequently and I’ve only seen them drop the paper bag hats. There is 1 for every class, and any class can wear any class’s paper bag.
SAXTON HALE MASK: If you craft all 9 class masks, you get the Saxton Hale mask, and it counts as an achievement. Because it counts as an achievement, I think that means you can only craft it once.
TAG: If you see a skull above your head in game, the horseman is coming for you next. You can melee someone else to give them the mark.
GIBUS: If you already have a Gibus, your’s will be upgraded instantly to the Ghastlier Gibus and sport a new decal.
UNUSUAL HAUNTED SCRAP METAL: If you melee-kill the horseless headless horsemann, you’ll get this scrap metal and an achievement. Because obtaining this metal spawns an achievement, you can only get it ONCE! So be careful that you use the scrap metal for the thing you want most.
BLUEPRINTS:
2 Refined Metal + Unusual Haunted Scrap Metal + Demo’s Skullcutter = Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann’s Headtaker (A demo-only reskin of the Eyelander. Sadly, it does not glow purple like it does when the Horsemann carries it.)
4 Refined Metal + Unusual Haunted Scrap Metal = A special Halloween hat. (Voodoo Juju or Spine-Chilling Skull)
There is also a Mountain Lab map that has the same layout as Mann Manor, and two other Halloween hats: A cleaver in the head (Horrific Headsplitter) and Cadaver’s Cranium (think Frankenstein) for the Heavy.
